How is your interview produced: Once your booking is confirmed, our Editor will contact you with the details of material required. Usually this means that you will need to send us your images by email or Dropbox or WeTransfer. Our Editor will also offer you the opportunity to use our standard interview questions or to have bespoke questions created for you. Should you prefer bespoke questions then our Editor will study your website and other relevant sources then produce a list of questions for your interview. You simply answer these questions and send them back to us by email and we will do all the editing and layout before sending to you for approval.
Why does DESTIG charge a fee:
The simple answer to this is - because we have to. We incur significant costs for the design and layout of artist features in the magazine, the replication of the showcase to our website, the search engine optimisation, paid for promotions on social media and external websites, production of the magazine in all formats etc.
We charge artists only 10% of what it costs to deliver their participation, we do not make any profit from working with artists. The 10% contribution by artists does not in any way affect the choice of artists that we work with, before we invite n artist to join DESTIG we would have already evaluated their work to ensure that it has a level of world class quality and will fit well in the magazine. Finances are not our main concern when approaching an Artist, our first concern is that you are a fit for our brand. Your cost is subsidised by nearly 90% and only because you are a fit for our brand.
Our Magazine, Website and Magazine cost a high amount of work/ time and financial expense to produce.We have to edit, design and lay out the interviews and magazine, we then have to pay proof readers to ensure that there are no mistakes in the magazine and finally we have to pay to produce the magazine in hardcopy / post it to our subscribers. We have to replicate it to our main website and all our other websites, we then have to pay all our social media partners, search engines and other marketing services to promote the magazine and interviews. All of the above costs hundreds of hours and also tens of thousands financially. Our magazine has commercial advertisers who pay 10 times more to have a quarter of artists need. If we did not care about Art and Artists we would simply sell the space only to commercial brands and make 40 times what we make. The costs for Artists is subsidised by the participation of the limited number of commercial brands that we work with, we have set the lowest cost possible for Artists and that's the best we can do - if you do not wish to pay the fee then we respect your decision but please respect the fact that we are not able to include you in DESTIG for free.
How does DESTIG select the Artists it approached?
Our research team scan the internet every day and make a shortlist of Artists whose works are of the highest quality.
Those shortlisted Artists are presented to our Editor, who will approve or eliminate Artists from the shortlist based on our magazine criteria.
Those Artists who remain are approached by our team to invite them to DESTIG Magazine.
Does DESTIG guarantee sales? DESTIG does not make any guarantees of any kind as regards sales. We create a high level of exposure for our Artists and that naturally should result in sales of your work if it impresses our readers enough. What we do guarantee is listed here:
Published in DESTIG – it is up to each Artist to decide how valuable the DESTIG selection is. Our magazine maintains a solid brand so we believe that this will be a great addition to your name and career.
Endorsed by DESTIG – We don’t just publish Artists. We use a title that has real impact both in the short and long term. We include you in our Top Lists (e.g. Top 20 Artists for the Year). This is subject to your work meeting our quality requirements.
Aesthetics - We guarantee to produce a captivating and beautiful interview / presentation – many of our artists have never been packaged quite so beautifully before. You will receive the magazine in Hardcopy, we will provide you with PDF’s, Images, Links etc.
Visibility – We guarantee to promote your interview within our magazine to a total of 50,000 readers and outside of our magazine to 500,000 readers whom are targeted by their geography and interest in art. We use marketing tools from Facebook, Twitter, Google etc. When we promote an Interview from DESTIG we hit those readership numbers.
Long term legacy – Our interviews are replicated to many websites. Search engines will pick up on all those permanent placements. So, when a search is made for an Artists’ name, the results will come up on many websites. Once your position is confirmed, our Editorial team will send you a welcome email that will explain the steps involved in producing your interview and showcase. We will send you 12 questions for you to answer and we will also need 10 to 15 images from you of your work. We will use 10 images in your interview.
