I introduce myself I always imagined and with my hands created ... One day then I came into contact with the plastic, the food packaging and the spark was triggered.
This work experience that represents only the last stage of a training and work process that has developed in several sectors and dimensions, each time contributing experiences and knowledge. I graduated in archeology; I worked for the promotion and cultural and tourist valorization of my land, realized historical volumes for children, worked on European projects of equal opportunity and social ... And then I made a new dimension of life an opportunity.
The plastic that would be destroyed, becoming heavy and polluting waste, in my hands is transformed, and, cleverly cut and worked, takes the characteristics of glass or ceramics. Estro, creativity and skilled hands, from this comes my every creation, a unique object to wear and to furnish, sometimes ironic and playful, sometimes opulent, other linearly essential, always unique and humorous. In the eyes of the beholder, it looks bright and transparent like a murrine and at the same time light and mobile, unbreakable and easily wearable; the attention to the environment, research and respect is combined with aesthetic and creative purposes (other materials would not allow me to make these creations).
To the processed plastic is added a whole series of materials that "tesaurizzo" going for fairs and markets, in craft workshops, in factories of the territory. It is not an accumulation but a minute and careful research of what I see and touch. Whether they are faulty electrical circuits, photographic films, scraps of Plexiglas or precious tailor buttons, fine yarns or antique wood pieces, each element becomes precious in my eyes, recalling memories, sensations, images.
This is how the creations are born, with always new suggestions that often recall ancient jewelry, pictorial images, naturalistic colors, childhood memories, tasty sweets .... The recovery of materials becomes an instrument for the recovery of feelings and emotions, of evoking trips made and known people.
This is why I call the individual pieces or lines with their own names, combining the characteristics of special people met with my achievements: a way both to clearly and clearly identify the piece and to pay tribute to those around me. Perhaps it is also for this reason that many of the creations are "emotionally opulent", charged, redundant, perhaps baroque.
Above all where I look for the "verisimilitude" with nature, not the copy, but its evocation, then maybe my creations become sculptures to wear, an explosion of shapes and colors to convey the beauty and richness of life. I want there to be joy and emotional impact in what I create; I would like to amaze those who see the creations and above all I want my pieces to animate those who wear them or those who give us home and shops in a positive and joyful way.
Many creations refer to the plant world: small leaves, flowers, grass, climbing plants, buds and shoots. With the most polluting element, the one that absorbs seas and lands, I refer to the beauty of creation. A contradiction in terms, an oxymoron that comes first to the belly and then to the head of the observer, suggesting and stimulating responsible reflection on how we are plastifying our world and how we are destroying it.
The artistic ends are linked in an inseparable way from the ethical ones. Each element is worked piece by piece: every single element that is born is the fruit of many small parts cut individually, modeled, assembled and decorated; a lot of artisanal work. Also for this reason each piece is unique and not repeatable, both for processing and for my choice.
