Katie Bosley - Constructing forms that push the limits of both the material and my abilities.2/11/2018
Originally from Clearwater, Florida, I received my BFA in Ceramics from the University of Florida and currently live in Atlanta, Georgia. I've interned at the Archie Bray Foundation in Helena, Montana and Women's Studio Workshop in Rosendale, New York. I'm currently making work as a studio assistant at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center in Atlanta, Georgia. I keep my practice fresh by trying to constantly challenge myself in the studio. When I'm not in the studio I enjoy travel, hiking, and good food. I’ve always been drawn to art with layers of visual complexity. I find beauty in repetition and symmetry, and enjoy getting lost in the details. My surface decoration reflects my love of the tight geometric designs of Islamic tiles, the grandeur of rib-vaulted cathedral ceilings, and the graceful curves of art Nouveau. A combination of suspended interiors and pierced exteriors to add to the depth and complexity of my pieces. Constructing forms that push the limits of both the material and my abilities, keeps my practice fresh. Visit the Website: www.katiebosley.com
