Funky needn't be a by-word for cheap and colourful needn't necesasarily originate from 'colour-blind'.
You can bring some carefully orchestrated vivaciousness into any sophisticated environment without cheapening your sanctuary if the materials and the forms of the spirited elements give a firm nod to authenticity and quality.
Alberto Bellamoli is an Italian industrial designer that graduated from Kolding Design School in Denmark. He has a passion for creating designs that would hold their own in any gallery from the traditional italian material Terrazzo (Google describes the material as: 'flooring material consisting of chips of marble or granite set in concrete and polished to give a smooth surface').
Alberto's unique creations will work well as centrepieces in restrained spaces and will look a dozen times more expensive than what you will pay for them. He is certainly a star in the making who has embedded himself in his raw materials and not just the process of creating out of them (we love his photographic tributes to Terrazzo).
Grab a slice of him while he is still affordable because this young designer is destined for great things. Here is his website: www.albertobellamoli.com
