“I was in bed about to fall asleep and suddenly I was hit by this huge bolt of inspiration. I knew I needed to paint my story of the last 18 months of travelling around the world and I knew I needed to use this as a force for good in the world by donating inspiring life-changing books for those people most in need of changing their lives.” I am a 28 year old UK based artist and my work is inspired by my experiences living in and travelling to different countries around the world. I love colour and the different emotions it can bring to our lives. Working with resin has encouraged me to let go of control and completely give in to the flow of the artwork. The beauty of resin is the glass like shiny finish, which makes the colours even more vibrant. I love the details and effects it creates and how you can stare into the painting as it has a depth. I often have very vivid flashes of inspiration and creativity spontaneously flows through me. Other days are more structured and I plan my creations based on a specific colour palette or theme. I have spent a lot of my life enjoying the great outdoors and I am a bit of a board sports fanatic. If it involves standing sideways on a board there is a good chance I will love it. Travelling via sports such as snowboarding, wakeboarding and kitesurfing is my favorite way to travel. Prior to being a full time artist I had a successful career in recruitment and went on to set up and sell my own recruitment business. I then went on an around the world mission to figure out what I really wanted to do. Eventually I found the courage to take the leap into the unknown and follow my childhood dream of being an artist. I studied art & design at college which was a great time in my life, although at that young age I didn’t believe it was possible to follow as a career. Thankfully today I am much more open minded and believe we can all be successful at whatever we want if we put our minds to it. Visit the Website: www.natalieellisart.com Comments are closed.
