What makes your work and approach unique? IhavearrivedatapointinmylifewhereInolonger amconsumedbypointlessbeliefs, patternsordesires thatstillseemattractiveinoursociety. Iunderstand that I solely exist to observe, create and ultimately remember. This gives me and my work value and meaning. Why is your work a good investment? Inthesetimeswhereweexperienceanoverwhelming flood of noise and imagery it is important to emphasizeandvaluecontent.Weallseekvalueand wefeeltheneedtoproofourown. My website www.jennyrichter.com is a sufficient referenceformycreationsandprojects.WhatIreally feel is an accomplishment though is the clarity and independenceIhavegainedthroughyearsofsolitude. IcouldnothavesharedmyworkatanearlierpointasI would have gotten attached to the need of being validatedbyothers.Iamalsoproudthatmyhusband and I have created a solid life foundation for our best creation- 2 little Padawans- while we both came from broken families and started with nothing. Raising kids meansyourfocusshiftsfrombeing thecenterofyourownuniverseto constantly prioritizing another being. So instead of living in the creative flow I haveto micro-organize and live with a tight schedule. As someone who highly values independence, alone time and pondering about the biggerthingsthisishardandIam proud I am doingit. Whatareyoursourcesof inspiration? My ideas spawn inside my head and then take on a life of their own.Igotthislineofimagesinmy head that are waiting for their turn. Because I have a very finite amountoftimeavailableraising2 young kids I constantly need to prioritize. Someimageshavebeen waiting for years, others squeeze in and give me this urge so they getbumpedupandturnedintoan art piece right away. It can be a teensy moment or feeling that triggers an entire image creation and I often have to catch up on fullygraspingitsmeaningmyself.
What you arepassionate about? I see our civilization standing at a decisive dividing point of power distribution.Theproclivityhowwe transfer power within the macro structuresofoursocietylieswithin themicrotendencytotransferour personalpower.Politicallyweare witnessing a tuck a war between corporate capability to claim and distributeresourceswhilecreating dependency versus a movementof socialactivismworkingtowardsa humane and fair distribution of resources creating an upgraded societyofunboundindividuals. PersonallyIamconvincedthatour monopolized power hierarchies will eventually fail because they aren’t viable and therefor will no longer serve us. However an upgradetoasocietyofsovereign individuals startswithquestioningwhyweare afraid of our ownsovereignty. Whydoweprefertooutsourceour personal power by handing over our responsibilities? Why authorize ourreligiousleaderstoholdpower over our own spiritual journey or commission doctors to be in full chargeofourhealingjourney? Whydowedetermineourworthby our material amassment or our lovabilitybyhowmuchwe(orour social media avatars) are being validated byothers? Thebiggestpowerwepossessis our attention. What we pay attention to we validate. That is whyIhopemyartworkcontributes a little part to bringing more attentiontothevastnatureofour being, to trigger self-reflection and focus onto the magic of our reality. Thank you for Your attention.
