Sited centrally within the Scottish Highlands National Nature Reserve, the 10,000 acre Glen Affric Estate is often considered to be amongst the most beautiful places in Scotland.
The Lodge is Victorian and is therefore beautifully made, taking approximately 12 years to be built (circa 1860 to 1872). Following its completion, Lord Tweedmouth presented the Lodge and 32000 acres of surrounding hills burns and forests to a much loved daughter on the occasion of her marriage. Those were the days...
In 2008 the current owners undertook a deep rebuild and modernisation of the Estate and in particular, its services and infrastructure. It has been renewed or restored throughout, yet the interior décor and furnishings of the Lodge remain reminiscent of the Victorian age.
In the pursuit of peace in the Glen, Affric is also proud to have its own Hydro renewable energy scheme, minimising environmental impact while maximising the comforts of home.
On the land, it is still possible for visitors to busy themselves deer stalking and trout fishing but entertainment now at Affric is infinitely more varied and modern.
Affric may only be rented as a whole. Particularly suitable uses include family reunions, film making, fashion shoots and in particular, corporate gatherings where privacy, security and discretion are considerations.
Affric’s amiably disposed Highland Team of long term yet young personnel strive to care for guests with anticipation, efficiency, good manners and excellent humour at all times.
Affric hopes to welcome you soon.
