Vlastimil Beránek is the third generation exponent of the highly established, Beránek glassmaking family which secured its place in Czech glass history during the 1940s by founding a glasshouse at Škrdlovice. He was personally in charge of the glassworks from 1992 to 2008.
The focal point of his personal interest lies in the free creation of molten glass sculptures. His sculptures feature a rigid, elementary form, often bordering on the edge of the technology´s very possibilities.
